Our Wolverhampton facility is a hub for Thermal and Fluid Management, where we design and engineer cutting-edge systems that regulate temperature, pressure, and fluid flow within aircraft.

Position Summary: Mechanical Design Team Lead

As the Mechanical Design Team Lead, you will guide a team of skilled engineers throughout the product lifecycle. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will leverage your expertise in mechanical design and systems engineering to manage multidisciplinary teams on complex projects.

Your leadership will be instrumental in aligning engineering efforts across disciplines to meet customer and stakeholder requirements, ensuring adherence to safety, quality, cost, and schedule objectives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and develop a team of talented design engineers
  • Ensure the successful delivery of engineering milestones, particularly for aerospace heat exchangers
  • Manage workload, capacity, and risk within design activities
  • Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and coaching to team members
  • Oversee design reviews and validate design deliverables
  • Foster a culture of high performance and innovation
  • Implement robust design processes and ensure compliance with industry standards
  • Contribute to research and development projects, shaping the company's product strategy
Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
  • Proven experience in complex design solutions and team leadership, preferably within the aerospace industry (heat exchangers)
  • Strong technical leadership and communication skills
  • Proficiency in CAD tools (NX) and PLM (Teamcenter)
  • Experience with heat exchangers, ozone converters, and fluid management systems is highly desirable
