About the Role

Trafford Council is seeking a skilled and compassionate Mental Health Social Worker to join our North Community Mental Health Team. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality social work services to individuals with severe mental health problems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work in a multi-disciplinary team to assess and develop care plans for individuals with mental health needs
  • Provide person-centered support to help individuals achieve their goals and improve their mental health and wellbeing
  • Collaborate with other professionals, including healthcare providers and voluntary sector organizations, to ensure a comprehensive and coordinated approach to care
  • Conduct assessments and reviews to identify the needs of individuals and develop strategies to address these needs
  • Work with individuals, families, and carers to promote independence, resilience, and recovery

Requirements:

  • Registered Social Worker with the Social Work England
  • Experience of working in a mental health setting, preferably in a community-based team
  • Strong knowledge of mental health legislation, policies, and procedures
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with individuals, families, and professionals
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively
