Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Retail Buyer to join our team at Tom Samuel Recruitment Ltd. As a Retail Buyer, you will be responsible for sourcing and purchasing products for our retail clients in the Household and Food categories.

Key Responsibilities
  • Category Planning: Develop and implement category plans, including range reviews, promotions, pricing, and stock management, to ensure a commercially viable assortment of products that meet customer needs and drive sales and profitability.
  • Product Sourcing: Identify and source new products that are competitively priced, commercially viable, and meet customer needs, driving sales and profitability.
  • Merchandising Strategy: Work closely with the Merchandising team to agree on a merchandising strategy that drives and delivers the right range in the right store, ensuring availability in store and control of slow-moving stock.
  • Pricing and Profitability: Manage and review pricing to ensure profitability, operating within company pricing strategy.
  • Supply Chain Management: Work in conjunction with the Supply Chain team to ensure base sales and promotional forecasts are adhered to, while maintaining in-store availability to meet customer needs.
  • Relationship Building: Develop and maintain effective internal and external relationships to enhance the proposition and meet customer needs.
  • Project Management: Manage and deliver projects as required.
Requirements
  • Experience: Experience in the Household, Food, or Drink categories is desired.
  • Commercial Acumen: Commercially sound with excellent ability to understand and interpret market information.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and numerical skills.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills, including written and verbal, including presentations.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Problem solver with a confident and energetic approach.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
