**Job Summary**
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced **Retail Category Manager** to join our team at Tom Samuel Recruitment Ltd. As a **Retail Category Manager**, you will be responsible for managing and developing our retail client's household and food and drink categories.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement category plans, including range reviews, promotions, pricing, and stock management, to drive sales and profitability.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to develop and implement marketing promotion plans and strategies that align with the category's commercial strategy.
- Ensure adherence to legislation and brand guidelines, and effectively communicate with customers to drive footfall and profitable sales.
- Work closely with the merchandising team to agree on merchandising strategies that drive and deliver the right range in the right store, ensuring availability and controlling slow-moving stock.
- Identify and implement new product opportunities that are competitively priced, commercially viable, and meet customer needs.
- Manage and review pricing to ensure profitability, operating within the company's pricing strategy.
- Work with the supply chain team to ensure base sales and promotional forecasts are met, while maintaining in-store availability.
- Develop effective internal working relationships with cross-functional team members to support and enhance category objectives and performance.
- Develop and maintain effective external relationships to enhance the proposition and meet customer needs.
- Adept negotiation strategies to attain the best terms for the category and the business.
- Continuously develop expert knowledge in category products, competitors, and market activity to deliver increased category performance objectives.
Requirements:
- Experience in the household, food, or drink categories is desired.
- Commercially sound with excellent ability to understand and interpret market information.
- Strong analytical and numerical skills.
- Ability to influence and negotiate at all levels.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Project management planning and skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
