Financial Controller Job Description

**Job Summary**

We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Controller to join our team at Venture Recruitment Partners. As a Financial Controller, you will play a critical role in ensuring the financial health and stability of our organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • **Financial Reporting**: Ensure all financial reporting is completed accurately and on time, in compliance with group accounting policies and regulations.
  • **Business Analysis**: Support senior leadership in business analysis and key business decisions, including annual operating plans, forecasts, variance analysis, cost reductions, and profitability enhancement.
  • **Financial Planning**: Liaise with local accounting functions to ensure accuracy and timeliness of financial information and efficient accounting operations.
  • **Financial Analysis**: Produce and analyze local financial reports, including revenue recognition, accruals calculation, reserves calculation, and adjustments, and monitor company performance against annual operating plans/forecasts.
  • **Working Capital Management**: Review levels of working capital in the company to ensure it is kept at optimum levels to maximize cash flow.
  • **Financial Leadership**: Proactively support and challenge the business to drive financial objectives and growth.
  • **Annual Operating Plans**: Take a leading role in the preparation of annual operating plans and forecasts.
  • **Compliance**: Ensure all local legal, tax, and statutory reporting requirements are fulfilled, including liaising with local and group auditors and professional advisers.
  • **Financial Controls**: Ensure adequate financial controls and review systems are in place to ensure accuracy of reported information and minimize risk of fraudulent or otherwise inappropriate activities.
  • **Group Finance Initiatives**: Implement Group Finance initiatives in the company, monitor progress, and report back status and deviations from plans.
  • **Financial Team Management**: Develop and coach a strong and stable finance team.
  • **Credit Collections**: Manage credit collections, including credit limit determination, AR overdue tracking, settlement with external customers, and cooperation with law firms engaged in collection.
  • **Cash Flow Planning**: Plan cash flow for future periods and report cash flow and plans for cash flow to the parent company.
  • **Project Profitability**: Work closely with Sales and Project Management for project profitability tracking.
  • **Annual Physical Stock Check**: Support the Annual Physical Stock Check together with the Procurement and Logistics Manager.
  • **Financial Issues**: Work closely with the MDs of two business units and the Board of Directors on financial issues and immediate notification of identified findings.
  • **ERP System**: Ensure the ERP system provides the necessary information for company reporting.
  • **Quality Standards**: Support the company in its maintenance of quality standards.
  • **Contract Negotiation**: Negotiate and manage business utility contracts.

Requirements

  • **Qualifications**: ACCA, ACA, or CIMA qualified or QBE.
  • **Experience**: UK GAAP or IFRS experience.
  • **Skills**: Excellent business partner to senior leadership, strong people manager.
