About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled ERTMS Trainer to join our team at Colas Rail. As a key member of our training team, you will be responsible for implementing, managing, and delivering a training and competency assessment regime to integrate ETCS Driver training into our current operations.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in railway operations, with experience in freight train driving and a proven track record in training and assessment. You will be responsible for ensuring effective systems are in place to manage freight driving competencies, coordinating training and re-certification of freight drivers, and maintaining the staff competency database.

You will also be responsible for developing training and assessment documentation, delivering mainline driver training, and assisting with technical, safety, and incident investigations as required. Additionally, you will analyze, forecast, plan, and monitor the competency management system, and lead and participate in industry and company meetings as required.

We are looking for a highly motivated and organized individual with excellent communication and IT skills. You will be based in the Crewe area, but will be required to deliver training nationwide as needed. If you are a qualified mainline freight train driver with trainer and assessor qualifications, and a passion for innovation and excellence, we would love to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement, manage, and deliver a training and competency assessment regime to integrate ETCS Driver training into Colas Rail's current operations.
  • Ensure effective systems are in place to manage freight driving competencies.
  • Coordinate training and re-certification of freight drivers.
  • Maintain the staff competency database.
  • Develop training and assessment documentation.
  • Deliver mainline driver training as required.
  • Assist with technical, safety, and incident investigations as required.
  • Analyze, forecast, plan, and monitor the competency management system.
  • Lead and participate in industry and company meetings as required.
