About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled ERTMS Trainer to join our team at Colas Rail. As a key member of our training team, you will be responsible for implementing, managing, and delivering a training and competency assessment regime to integrate ETCS Driver training into our current operations.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in railway freight operations, with experience in training and assessing train drivers. You will be responsible for ensuring effective systems are in place to manage freight driving competencies, coordinating training and re-certification of freight drivers, and maintaining the staff competency database.

You will also be responsible for developing training and assessment documentation, delivering mainline driver training, and assisting with technical, safety, and incident investigations as required. Additionally, you will analyze, forecast, plan, and monitor the competency management system, and lead and participate in industry and company meetings as required.

We are looking for a candidate who is a qualified mainline freight train driver, familiar with the planned introduction of ERTMS, and holds trainer and assessor qualifications. You will be willing to undertake further training as the post dictates and have excellent communication skills and organizational ability.
