About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled ERTMS Trainer to join our team at Colas Rail. As a key member of our rail infrastructure team, you will be responsible for implementing, managing, and delivering a training and competency assessment regime to integrate ETCS Driver training into our current operations.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in rail operations, with experience in freight train driving and a deep understanding of ERTMS. You will be responsible for ensuring effective systems are in place to manage freight driving competencies, coordinating training and re-certification of freight drivers, and maintaining the staff competency database.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement training programs for ETCS Driver training
  • Coordinate training and re-certification of freight drivers
  • Maintain the staff competency database
  • Develop and deliver training materials and assessments
  • Assist with technical, safety, and incident investigations
  • Lead and participate in industry and company meetings
  • Ensure compliance with all company standards and procedures
  • Coordinate the installation and implementation of Train Driver simulators
  • Construct simulator training packages and scenarios
Person Specifications
  • Extensive experience in rail operations, with a strong background in freight train driving
  • Deep understanding of ERTMS and its applications
  • Proven track record of developing and delivering training programs
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong IT skills and experience with administration and organization
  • UK driving license
