We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced academic to join our Department of Materials as a Senior Lecturer/Senior Research Fellow in Materials for Quantum Technologies. The successful candidate will be expected to make a significant contribution to our research and teaching activities, with a focus on developing quantum technologies capable of operating at room temperature and under ambient conditions.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct and lead research in the field of Materials for Quantum Technologies, with a focus on developing quantum technologies capable of operating at room temperature and under ambient conditions.
- Teach and assess undergraduate and postgraduate students in the Department of Materials, with a focus on materials science and quantum technologies.
- Supervise and mentor research students, including PhD and MSc students.
- Contribute to the development and delivery of our undergraduate and postgraduate taught programmes, with a focus on materials science and quantum technologies.
- Engage in administrative duties, including serving on departmental committees and undertaking other tasks as required.
The successful candidate will have a strong track record of research in the field of Materials for Quantum Technologies, with a focus on developing quantum technologies capable of operating at room temperature and under ambient conditions. They will also have a strong teaching and mentoring record, with experience of teaching and assessing undergraduate and postgraduate students.
The ideal candidate will have a PhD in the physical sciences, engineering or related field, and will be able to demonstrate a strong vision for research in the field of Materials for Quantum Technologies. They will also have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues and students at all levels.
