Pastoral Manager Job Description

U-Educate is seeking a dedicated and experienced Pastoral Manager to join our team in secondary schools based in Handsworth. As a key member of the senior leadership team, you will play a vital role in managing student behaviour and providing high-quality pastoral care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the senior leadership team in managing student behaviour and implementing behaviour management strategies
  • Act as a role model for students and staff, demonstrating high-quality pastoral care and support
  • Work in an 'on-call' capacity to ensure students are in their lessons and provide support to classroom teachers as needed
  • Remove students from lessons into the internal isolation unit as required

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with KS3 and KS4 students
  • Ability to manage challenging behaviours and remain calm in difficult situations
  • Experience working in an 'on-call' or internal isolation unit
  • Excellent communication and emotional intelligence skills
  • Ability to pass an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check
  • Up-to-date Safeguarding Training
