Job Overview
We are seeking a qualified Band 5/6 Nurse, specializing in either Children's or Adult Nursing, who possesses a keen interest or experience in Haematology Nursing. This role is designed for individuals ready to embrace additional responsibilities and enhance our dedicated nursing team.
Main Responsibilities
This is an opportunity for a Bank Line of Work lasting 6-12 months within our vibrant and supportive Haematology/Oncology and Paediatric Bone Marrow Unit. The Grand Union Ward is a 13-bedded acute paediatric haematology facility equipped with four Bone Marrow Transplant units and a 2-bedded Apheresis Bay.
The successful candidate will integrate into a multidisciplinary team of skilled professionals committed to delivering exceptional care to children facing various health challenges, including:
- Sickle Cell Anaemia
- Beta Thalassaemia
- Diamond Blackfan Anaemia
- Gene Therapy
- Bone Marrow Transplant
- Bone Marrow Failures
- Apheresis Programme
- Oncological Emergencies
As a Band 6 nurse, if you can demonstrate proficiency in assessment and clinical skills, you will have the opportunity to participate in our Apheresis Training, which includes Red Cell Exchange and Plasmapheresis, and may also join our on-call rota.
