Senior Staff Nurse

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Paediatric Nurse to join our dynamic team at North Middlesex University Hospital NHS Trust. As a Senior Staff Nurse in our Paediatric A&E department, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our team.
Key Responsibilities- Manage and coordinate the department in the absence of more senior staff, escalating where necessary.
- Participate in the teaching and supervision of junior staff and student nurses, helping to lead and manage their development.
- Provide safe and effective patient care, adhering to the NMC Code of Professional Conduct at all times.
- Act as a positive role model to junior staff members, promoting a culture of excellence and professionalism.
- Work collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary team to ensure patients receive evidence-based, holistic care.
- Uphold the rules, policies, and procedures of North Middlesex University Hospital NHS Trust, as well as relevant statutory and professional obligations.
- Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of self, colleagues, visitors, and patients within the hospital.
- Registered Nurse with significant experience working on a paediatric ward/unit.
- Relevant degree or in the process of obtaining.
- Significant acute paediatric experience at Band 5.
- Broad experience of clinical paediatric nursing practice within a hospital environment.
- Experience of working with acute/chronically ill children, families under stress, and supervising junior staff and peers.
- Ability to plan and care for a group of patients, make effective decisions autonomously, and teach, supervise, and support carers, children, colleagues, and students.
