Job Overview

Veritas Education Recruitment is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Educational Needs Support Assistant to join our team. As a Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional support to students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide individualized support to students with SEN/SEMH needs, promoting their learning and well-being.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and other support staff to develop and implement personalized learning plans.
  • Assist students with daily tasks, such as organization, time management, and self-regulation strategies.
  • Support students in developing social skills, emotional regulation, and mental health strategies.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff to ensure a smooth and supportive learning environment.
Requirements
  • Relevant experience working with students with SEN/SEMH needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Patience, empathy, and a commitment to supporting students with diverse needs.
  • Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to apply for one).
