Position Overview
The primary function of the Cost Estimation Specialist is to support the organization with various estimating responsibilities, ranging from comprehensive project assessments to individual component evaluations. This role is crucial in providing precise historical cost data and reports to assist in managing personnel, evaluating future elements, and forecasting final project results.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the development of accurate estimates to facilitate project planning and management.
  • Incorporate feedback from relevant teams to ensure project delivery within budget constraints.
  • Establish a database of historical project costs and forecasting tools to guide future proposals.
  • Collaborate closely with Project Management, Design, Finance, Procurement, and Production Control on estimates and production estimates.
  • Engage with Fabrication, Machine, and Integration teams in the estimating process as necessary.
  • Utilize ERP systems to extract relevant data for estimation comparisons.
  • Regularly visit the Fabrication floor to monitor progress and understand production patterns.
  • Demonstrate the ability to generate estimates with appropriate accuracy based on requirements and available time (including Nuclear, ROM, Preliminary Estimate, and Bid Estimate).
  • Exhibit adaptability and flexibility in compiling and presenting data according to bid specifications.
  • Possess a creative mindset with a solid grasp of construction techniques and materials.
  • Assist with additional project tasks as assigned, such as Cost to Complete (CTC).
  • Work collaboratively and efficiently with all members of the Estimating team.
  • Comply with all company safety policies and procedures.
  • Participate in meetings, seminars, and training sessions as required.
  • Perform assigned duties in accordance with the policies and expectations set by the company.
  • Other responsibilities may be assigned to meet business needs.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in any discipline OR 4 years of relevant professional experience.
  • 2-4 years of experience in controls, construction, estimation, bidding, or proposal development.
  • Familiarity with ERP software (e.g., Epicor).
  • Strong numerical aptitude.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment.
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite.
