About the Role
We are seeking a qualified Social Worker to join our Placements Team in the Vale of Glamorgan.
As a Special Guardianship Social Worker, you will oversee all support provided to children and families where a Special Guardianship Order is in place. Your responsibilities will include conducting annual reviews and designing and delivering tailored support on both individual and group levels.
A Social Work qualification is essential for this role, as is post-qualifying experience in direct work with children, young people, and families.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive support to children and families under Special Guardianship Orders.
- Conduct thorough annual reviews to assess the well-being of children and families.
- Develop and implement individualized support plans based on specific needs.
- Facilitate group sessions to provide shared learning and support opportunities.
- Collaborate with other professionals involved in the child's care.
About You
You will possess:
- Proven experience working with children, young people, and their families.
- Experience collaborating effectively within a team environment.
- Strong analytical skills for collating information and preparing reports.
- A deep understanding of the needs of vulnerable children.
- Knowledge of child development principles.
- Familiarity with various methods for engaging with children and young people.
- A Social Work qualification and registration with Social Care Wales.
This team offers foster carers 24/7 professional fostering support. The support line is staffed exclusively by fostering professionals who are available to discuss situations, provide advice, and offer support over the phone. A member of this team will be required to participate in the out-of-hours support system, which typically involves one overnight commitment per week and less than one full weekend per month. An allowance is provided in addition to core wages for this commitment.
