About the Role
The Vale of Glamorgan Council is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Social Worker to join our Mental Health Services team. As a Mental Health Social Worker, you will play a vital role in providing secondary mental health services to citizens within the Vale of Glamorgan.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess and formulate integrated care and support plans to promote the independence of citizens and their resilience in managing their mental health difficulties.
- Work closely with health colleagues to contribute to the provision of a multi-disciplinary community mental health team.
- Undertake assessments and provide reports rooted in rigorous practice methodology and, where required, legislation.
- Provide supervision, coaching, and mentoring to colleagues.
- Practice as an Approved Mental Health Professional and assist the Local Authority in discharging its statutory duties under the Mental Health Act.
Requirements
- Experience of working with adults who are vulnerable through illness, disability, or age-related frailty.
- Assessment of adult service users and carers.
- Working in partnership with statutory and voluntary organisations to promote the independence of service users.
- For Grade 9, social workers with excess of 3 years practising work experience, competent in producing reports, and providing supervision, coaching, and mentoring.
Working Arrangements
The successful candidate will be working 37 hours per week and will be based at the Vale Locality Mental Health Team, Barry Hospital, and Forensic Community Mental Health Team, Llanfair Unit, Llandough Hospital.
