Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Support Worker to join our team at Beechwood College. As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with Autism, Learning Disabilities, or Challenging Behaviour to live fulfilling lives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Encourage individuals to participate in activities and follow their interests, promoting independence and autonomy.
  • Coordinate scheduled activities, using personalized rotas and liaising with colleagues to ensure facilitated activities and appointments are attended.
  • Support individuals with their personal care, promoting dignity and respect.
  • Encourage individuals to develop proactive strategies to maintain their emotional wellbeing and mental health.
  • Ensure accurate and up-to-date records, including incident forms, daily notes, and finance records.

Requirements

  • Excellent communication and listening skills, with the ability to support individuals with diverse communication needs.
  • Knowledge, experience, or desire to support individuals with Autism, Learning Disabilities, or Challenging Behaviour.
  • Good basic comprehension of the English language, including basic literacy and numerical skills.
  • Ongoing commitment to personal development and training.
