Position Overview

Core Responsibilities

The primary focus of this position is to oversee and sustain the technological framework of Corin Underwriting, managing our Microsoft and Azure environments while delivering daily technical assistance to team members to ensure a productive and dependable workplace.

This role also encompasses the administration of firewall systems and IT security measures—monitoring and enhancing existing protocols to safeguard company information and assets.

Additional duties may include, but are not limited to: configuring and managing telecommunication systems; overseeing SharePoint site operations; liaising with external service providers, including software vendors and telecommunications suppliers.

In this capacity, you will be entrusted with sensitive information, both personal and financial; adherence to all regulatory and organizational policies is essential to maintain compliance.

Effective time management and the ability to work independently are crucial, as you will be expected to organize tasks and resources to meet deadlines efficiently.

Tasks may be delegated to you that should be completed promptly, in alignment with the business's evolving needs.

This position demands accuracy, compliance, and a methodical approach, with a proactive attitude towards supporting the organization's objectives, occasionally undertaking operational tasks as required.

Role Requirements

General IT Assistance

· Deliver technical support to personnel, including troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues.

· Install, configure, and maintain IT devices such as computers, printers, and peripherals.

· Manage user accounts, permissions, and access rights.

IT Security Management

· Oversee and manage firewall systems to prevent unauthorized access and security threats, collaborating with vendors for advanced support when necessary.

· Enforce existing and, where applicable, implement new IT security policies and procedures to protect company data.

· Conduct regular security evaluations and vulnerability assessments, providing management with actionable recommendations for enhancements.

Infrastructure Oversight

· Telecommunication Systems: maintain and support the organization's telecommunication systems, ensuring optimal functionality and reliability, troubleshooting issues, and coordinating with suppliers for advanced assistance.

· Hardware/Software Management: oversee end-user devices and endpoint security, administer MS365 and Azure systems, manage and maintain SharePoint sites, and keep IT asset registers updated, including implementing upgrade schedules.

· Communication Setup: Configure and support audiovisual equipment for meetings and presentations to ensure seamless connectivity and functionality for video conferencing, providing training to staff as needed.

Vendor Coordination

· Serve as a primary contact for third-party platform providers, assisting in the maintenance and enhancement of system integration and functionality.

· Collaborate with suppliers to resolve technical challenges and implement updates or improvements.

· Manage and negotiate mobile phone contracts, ensuring cost-effectiveness while supporting device management, setup, and troubleshooting.

· Cultivate relationships with internet service providers to guarantee consistent and reliable connectivity, monitoring performance and coordinating with providers to resolve issues and enhance service.

Reporting Duties

· Provide senior management with necessary reports, including but not limited to: performance metrics, usage statistics, cybersecurity incidents, inventory updates, and upgrade schedules.

Training and Professional Development

· Engage in formal and informal training aligned with established objectives.

· Enhance knowledge and understanding of the industry and any relevant legal or technical changes through ongoing education.

· Document and track all continuing professional development activities.

Operational and Administrative Support

· Adhere to all organizational processes and procedures to facilitate smooth business operations.

· Respond to inquiries from key stakeholders and clients received through various communication channels.

· Ensure compliance with company policies, customer service standards, and external regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A solid understanding of Microsoft platforms at an administrator level, including Windows Server, Microsoft365 Admin Centers, Azure Entra ID, Office 365, Compliance, Exchange, etc.
  • Experience with Azure Virtual Desktop is advantageous.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in IT support.
  • A genuine enthusiasm for technology.
  • Exceptional problem-solving abilities and critical thinking skills to address technical challenges and implement process enhancements.
  • Strong numerical and literacy skills.
  • Excellent analytical and communication capabilities.
