POSITION SUMMARY

NOV is a prominent entity in the design and production of wireline solutions for both slickline and electric line applications. In response to a surge in demand, we are enhancing our workforce and are in search of a proficient Assembly Team Supervisor for our KWINCH assembly and testing division.

As an Assembly Team Supervisor, you will utilize your technical knowledge and professional background to aid in the provision of precision components for various applications. Your role will involve managing a team, ensuring streamlined assembly operations, inventory management, and compliance with safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Safety Management: Guarantee team compliance with safety measures, halting unsafe practices and reporting concerns.
  • Operational Planning: Organize work orders for maximum efficiency and workflow.
  • Equipment Operation: Safely and proficiently operate assigned machinery, adhering to all Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) standards. Actively participate in the assembly of our products.
  • Production Oversight: Assess production needs, manage timelines, and supervise staffing levels.
  • Quality Control: Detect product flaws, ensure adherence to quality protocols, and maintain material traceability.
  • Process Improvement: Spearhead enhancement initiatives, foster idea generation, and employ proactive problem-solving methods.
  • Team Development: Guide operators and apprentices, offering both technical and behavioral mentorship.
  • Collaborative Efforts: Work alongside supervisors and line managers, participate in production discussions, and support site improvement plans.
  • Performance Evaluation: Monitor and enhance team productivity, ensure customer satisfaction, and maintain equipment functionality.
  • Administrative Responsibilities: Update Kronos, assist in budget formulation, engage in recruitment processes, and contribute to employee feedback and training.
Required Skills & Experience:

Essential:
  • Strategic Thinking: Proficient in problem-solving, making decisions under pressure, and learning technical skills.
  • Organizational Skills: Capable of managing multiple tasks, prioritizing effectively, and providing necessary information to team members.
  • Motivation: Driven and enthusiastic about overcoming challenges.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Strong focus on customer service and a collaborative team approach.
  • Qualifications: Completion of a relevant apprenticeship or HNC.
  • Experience: Familiarity with wireline winches and masts, modern assembly environments, and prior leadership roles.
  • Technical Proficiency: Competence in computer applications (Microsoft Office) and inventory management.
Desirable:
  • Further Education: Additional qualifications in a relevant field.
  • Proactive Problem Solving: Knowledge of root cause analysis techniques such as Fishbone diagrams and 5 Whys.
  • Lean Manufacturing: Understanding of 5S principles and LEAN methodologies.
  • Experience: Previous supervisory or chargehand experience.
