Position Summary:
As a Mechanical Assembly Specialist, you will utilize your extensive understanding of technical principles, practices, and procedures to execute tasks effectively. Your primary responsibility will be to manage the connection and assembly of a diverse array of Anson equipment, adhering to applicable standards and timelines. By collaborating and supporting your team, you will proactively ensure that the needs of customers and stakeholders are met in alignment with evolving production priorities. You will play a crucial role in enhancing the timely assembly of the Anson product line, contributing significantly to the completion of manufacturing projects and order fulfillment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Safely and competently operate designated machinery, ensuring compliance with all health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards.
- Execute schedules, sequences, and tasks for assembly line operations.
- Follow work instructions as provided by the Cell Leader, including specifications and equipment operation guidelines.
- Monitor and assess materials, products, or equipment to identify defects or issues.
- Maintain assembly line performance metrics by observing gauges, dials, and other indicators.
- Verify work quality using gauges, visual inspections, and measuring instruments.
- Keep a well-organized and visually clear workspace (5S methodology).
- Propose and implement improvement initiatives while encouraging team members to share ideas; prioritize safety and quality by halting work when necessary and escalating concerns.
- Familiarize yourself with and apply proactive root cause analysis techniques (e.g., Fishbone diagram).
- Assess current production estimates and outputs for efficiency.
- Completion of a time-served apprenticeship or possession of an HNC in a relevant field (essential).
- Higher education qualifications in a relevant discipline (desirable).
- Practical knowledge in an assembly and manufacturing setting, including component preparation (essential).
- A background in a mechanical-related profession (desirable).
- Proficiency in computer applications, particularly Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) (essential).
- Capability to operate basic hand and power tools (essential).
- Ability to read and interpret engineering schematics (essential).
- Possession of forklift and overhead crane certifications (desirable).
