About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Specialist Safeguarding Children and Adults Advisor to join our dynamic team at NELFT NHS Foundation Trust.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert advice and guidance on safeguarding children and adults to NELFT staff, ensuring compliance with local and national policies and procedures.
  • Support the Named Professionals for Safeguarding Children and Adults in promoting and progressing the safeguarding agenda and trust safeguarding strategy.
  • Develop and deliver safeguarding training, both single agency and multi-agency, to ensure staff have the necessary skills and knowledge to protect children and adults at risk.
  • Participate in the planning, delivery, and evaluation of the safeguarding strategy, using a SMART approach to ensure effective implementation.
  • Provide safeguarding children supervision for a defined group of staff, ensuring they have the necessary support and guidance to carry out their roles effectively.
  • Support the delivery of the annual Safeguarding Children/Adult Audit Programme, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes to ensure compliance with best practice.
  • Collaborate with the Safeguarding Leadership Team to ensure that all NELFT staff can access safeguarding advice, support, and develop their safeguarding practices commensurate with their role and competencies.
Requirements
  • Registered Nurse, Social Worker, or Allied Health Professional with current registration with NMC or HCPC.
  • Teaching/Mentoring Qualification or working towards.
  • Evidence of ongoing Safeguarding Children level 3 training.
  • Minimum of two years' experience post-registration, with experience of interagency work, audit, and report writing.
