Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Domestic Abuse Prevention Specialist to join our team at Essex County Council. As a key member of our multi-disciplinary team, you will play a critical role in preventing domestic abuse and promoting the safety and well-being of vulnerable adults and children.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver effective interventions for perpetrators of domestic abuse, using a range of approaches and techniques.
  • Work closely with partners and stakeholders to ensure a coordinated response to domestic abuse, including the MARAC process.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to domestic abuse, ensuring they are evidence-based and effective.
  • Provide training and support to colleagues and partners on domestic abuse awareness and prevention.
  • Engage with service users and their families to understand their needs and develop tailored support plans.
  • Collaborate with other agencies and services to ensure a comprehensive response to domestic abuse, including housing, health, and social care.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of risk assessment tools and protocols, ensuring they are effective and up-to-date.

Requirements

  • Significant experience of working with perpetrators of domestic abuse, including direct work and group interventions.
  • Excellent knowledge of domestic abuse theories, models, and interventions, including the MARAC process.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage a complex and demanding workload.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding policies and procedures, including the safeguarding of children and vulnerable adults.
