Area Sales Manager

SIG Plc. is a leading supplier of specialist building materials to trade customers across Europe, with a strong presence in its core markets as a specialist distributor of insulation and interiors products, and as a merchant of roofing and exteriors products.
We are seeking a highly skilled Area Sales Manager to join our team, who will be responsible for developing a customer-focused territory business plan within a defined geographical region. The successful candidate will be responsible for growing existing customer relationships, increasing brand awareness, and managing customer prospects in line with new business targets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a territory business plan to drive profitability and growth
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and suppliers
- Understand market trends and articulate the drivers
- Forge and maintain strong working relationships with all stakeholders
- Make confident decisions and negotiate effectively
- Communicate and present effectively, both verbally and in writing
- See issues from the customer's perspective and engage with customers
Requirements:
- Strong experience and background in sales, with industry knowledge preferred
- Ability to build and maintain key relationships with customers and suppliers
- Understanding of market trends and ability to articulate the drivers
- Ability to forge and maintain strong working relationships with all stakeholders
- Commercially aware, with a strong understanding of financial and profit models
- Confident decision-maker with strong negotiation skills
- Effective communicator and presenter, with strong verbal and written skills
- Ability to see issues from the customer's perspective and engage with customers
