About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Midwifery Advocate to join our team at University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our clinical leadership team, you will play a vital role in supporting the deployment and implementation of our Advocating for Education and Quality Improvement model (AEQUIP).

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Embed Restorative Clinical Supervision: Work with our Professional Midwifery Advocates and clinical teams to develop, deliver, and embed Restorative Clinical Supervision (RCS) in our clinical areas.
  • Support the Supervision, Development, and Coaching of Staff: Actively support the supervision, development, and coaching of individual staff to ensure they can function effectively within their role and responsibilities.
  • Collaborate with Teams to Improve Services: Collaborate with and support teams to develop and improve services, delivering safe, compassionate care through regular RCS.
  • Contribute to the Content of Documents and Teaching Aids: Contribute to the content of and lead on the design of documents and teaching aids to support our education and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Provide Reports and Present in Forums: Provide reports regarding AEQUIP deployment as requested and present in forums as required.
  • Collate Audit Data: Collate audit data to report on activity, compliance, and effectiveness.

Person Specification
  • Essential Qualifications: Registered Midwife on the NMC register, evidence of continuous professional development.
  • Essential Experience: Recent significant post-registration experience working at a senior level in a clinical area for the NHS/healthcare setting, relevant and recent clinical experience within a care environment, including the supervision, education, and pastoral support of colleagues.
