Senior Sous Chef Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Sous Chef to join our team at a prestigious Spa Hotel in the Kent countryside.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will assist the Head Chef in all aspects of food production, ensuring the highest quality standards are met. This includes supervising the day-to-day kitchen operation, overseeing food presentation, and supporting the wider culinary team with operational tasks and people management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and coordinate kitchen staff to ensure efficient food production and service.
  • Develop and implement menu ideas, ensuring alignment with hotel standards and customer preferences.
  • Manage kitchen inventory, ordering, and stock control to minimize waste and optimize resources.
  • Collaborate with the Head Chef to plan and execute special events, banquets, and functions.
  • Conduct regular quality control checks to maintain high standards of food quality and presentation.
  • Provide coaching, training, and development opportunities for kitchen staff to enhance their skills and performance.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Proven experience as a Sous Chef in a quality hotel restaurant, preferably with 2 rosette standards.
  • Excellent culinary skills, with a focus on creativity, presentation, and flavor.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple responsibilities.
  • Knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and health and safety regulations.
