Senior Sous Chef Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Sous Chef to join our team at a prestigious hotel in Kent. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day kitchen operation, ensuring that food is produced to the highest standard.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Head Chef in managing a team of 12 Chefs and 4 Kitchen Porters, including recruitment, training, and coaching.
  • Plan and implement menus, manage supplier relationships, and oversee food preparation, cooking, and service across the hotel's food areas.
  • Develop and implement effective people management strategies, including performance management, scheduling, and motivating team members.
  • Collaborate with the Head Chef to develop menu ideas that meet rosette standards and enhance the hotel's food offering.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Senior Sous Chef or equivalent role in a high-end hotel or restaurant.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a team.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices, with the ability to maintain high standards in the kitchen.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, with a focus on delivering high-quality food and excellent customer service.
