Job Summary:

Hill Mcglynn Recruitment is seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our client's dynamic team. As a leading construction company, they deliver high-quality projects across various sectors.

About the Role:

This is an ideal opportunity for a seasoned Quantity Surveyor with a proven track record working with tier one or regional main contractors. The successful candidate will have significant experience working on school projects valued at £10,000,000 and above.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contract Management: Manage all aspects of the contractual and financial side of construction projects.
  • Tender and Contract Preparation: Prepare tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities.
  • Risk and Cost Management: Perform risk, value management, and cost control.
  • Feasibility Studies: Conduct feasibility studies to estimate materials, time, and labour costs.
  • Procurement: Negotiate and procure subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Project Monitoring: Monitor and control project budgets and costs.
  • Health and Safety: Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Reporting: Provide regular reports on project progress, budgets, and forecasts.

Requirements:

  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction sector.
  • Contractor Experience: Proven experience working with tier one or regional main contractors.
  • Project Experience: Extensive experience working on school projects valued at £10,000,000 and above.
  • Knowledge: Strong knowledge of construction contracts and legislation.
  • Skill: Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Software Proficiency: Proficiency in relevant software and tools (e.g., MS Office, cost management software).
  • Professional Membership: Professional membership with RICS or equivalent is preferred.
