Key Responsibilities- Assessment and Treatment: Conduct comprehensive assessments of individuals with learning disabilities, identifying their health needs and developing personalized care plans to address these needs.
- Advice and Support: Provide expert advice and support to other healthcare professionals, carers, and families on learning disability-related issues.
- Leadership and Supervision: Lead and supervise a team of Learning Disability Community Nurses, providing guidance, support, and development opportunities to ensure the delivery of high-quality care.
- Professional Development: Stay up-to-date with the latest research, guidelines, and best practices in learning disability healthcare, sharing your expertise with colleagues and contributing to the development of our service.
- Training and Education: Design and deliver training programs for healthcare professionals, carers, and families on learning disability-related topics, promoting positive approaches to care and support.
- Collaboration and Partnership: Work closely with other healthcare professionals, social care teams, and community organizations to ensure seamless care coordination and effective service delivery.
- Qualifications: Current NMC registration, documented evidence of CPD in accordance with NMC recommendations, Diploma/degree in LD Community Nursing, and evidence of study at Masters level or willingness to undertake.
- Experience: Significant experience in learning disability community nursing, with a strong background in assessment, treatment, and care planning.
- Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, and strong leadership and supervision skills.
