Clinical Specialist Community Learning Disability Nurse

About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Specialist Community Learning Disability Nurse to join our team at Sirona care & health CIC. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality support to service users with learning disabilities and complex health needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess, treat, and facilitate the management of health needs of adults with learning disabilities.
- Provide learning disability-specific advice and support to other staff within the SALDHS and wider Sirona teams.
- Deal with complex information from assessments, requiring interpretation and comparison.
- Provide leadership, operational support, development, and supervision to Learning Disability Community Nursing staff.
- Provide professional support, clinical supervision to relevant practitioners within their discipline across SALDHS.
- Develop and maintain expertise and an advisory role as lead in specific clinical areas within the SALDHS Service.
- Identify, plan, develop, and provide relevant training to other professionals, carers, and organisations to ensure the effective implementation of clinical interventions and recommendations.

Person Specification
Essential
- Evidence of highly competent clinical reasoning skills and the ability to communicate this to other professionals.
- A high level of effective communication and the ability to develop relationships with people with learning disabilities, carers, and staff in other teams and organisations.
- Able to work collaboratively within own and multidisciplinary health and social care teams.
- Evidence of clear and competent prioritisation skills and the ability to manage and organise own caseload and delegate work appropriately.
- Evidence of computer skills, including email, word processing, PowerPoint, and the use of databases to search for literature.
- Evidence of highly competent clinical documentation skills.
- Demonstrable people management skills, including supervising and managing junior staff and students.
- Significant experience of the core areas of LD Community Nursing.
- Experience in community settings and LD/Autism/Epilepsy/PWLD.
Qualifications
Essential
- Current NMC registration.
- Documented evidence of CPD in accordance with NMC recommendations.
- Diploma/degree in LD Community Nursing.
- Evidence of study at Masters level or willingness to undertake.
- Member of relevant Nursing professional groups, including the Royal College of Nursing and Epilepsy Society.
