Our employees enjoy exceptional benefits that empower them to make strategic choices for themselves and their families.Our highly successful Sales Order team is in search of a skilled Sales Order Specialist to collaborate closely with our sales organization in preparing and validating license and support agreements (excluding renewals) for submission to Order Service Coordinators. You will act as the primary contact for field sales in the UK & Ireland and NL & GOSI, working independently while also providing support to team members as needed.
This role is highly visible, engaging with some of our most successful sales teams and supporting prestigious enterprise clients.
Responsibilities of the Sales Order Specialist:
Offer guidance and support to sales regarding quote preparation in relation to Commercial, Legal, and Revenue Recognition policies, order processing, and customer order inquiries. Provide Level 1 Legal support and generate contractual agreements. Order Processing – Review, validate, and process all orders with a focus on accuracy and completeness for submission. Proactively communicate with Field Sales and/or managers regarding order issues, keeping them informed of any problem resolutions. Ensure all orders are submitted promptly according to established submission deadlines. Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of Revenue Recognition and Revenue Accounting policies related to software licensing and support, as well as SOX controls applicable to the Quote to Cash process, Order Entry (OE+) application, SFDC, and Siebel to support order management. Provide assistance in resolving and clarifying order information, invoicing, collections, and access issues. Acquire in-depth knowledge of BMC's licensing model and pricing to support quoting for our EMEA Sales Team. Actively seek to understand customer needs and identify solutions for non-standard tasks or inquiries. Monitor and control costs within your work scope. Identify key issues and patterns from incomplete or conflicting data; take a broad perspective on problems and discover new, less obvious solutions. Share your experience and knowledge with others; provide guidance and support to less experienced colleagues.Qualifications for a Successful Sales Order Specialist:
Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and completeness in all processes is essential. Proven ability to collaborate and communicate courteously with others to obtain all necessary documentation for revenue realization on license sales. Capability to work remotely and utilize the escalation process effectively. Clear and grammatically correct verbal and written communication skills are mandatory. Ideally, knowledge and experience with Order Services back-office applications, along with a solid understanding of administrative processes. Familiarity with license and/or software accounting, legal operations, and an understanding of license revenue recognition requirements is highly desirable. Working knowledge of Oracle, SFDC, and financial operations processes is beneficial. Proficiency in Office suite applications is required. Intermediate-level experience with Business Objects is a plus. Familiarity with communication tools such as phone, messaging, chat, and shared applications is necessary. Ability to identify, define, and resolve issues, balancing the desire to address both tactical and root-cause problems is advantageous. Capacity to manage multiple transactions of varying complexity. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to adapt communication style to the audience, capable of explaining complex information clearly, establishing consensus, and achieving agreement. Create an informal network within the team and across other BMC departments.
