Job Title: Deputy Commercial Finance Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Deputy Commercial Finance Manager to join our team at Office Angels. As a key member of our finance department, you will play a crucial role in leading our central finance function and driving business growth.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage a team of eight direct reports, including finance officers, a financial accountant, a systems accountant, and a payroll and pensions manager.
  • Organise and lead regular training for the finance team, providing ongoing support and development opportunities.
  • Review staff performance and follow formal procedures such as probation reviews and annual appraisals.
  • Provide training and support on finance and payroll matters to school Business Managers and Principals.
  • Support schools operating without a Business Manager, including reviewing payment runs and providing day-to-day financial support as needed.
  • Manage the preparation of Financial Statements and liaise with internal and external auditors.
  • Oversee the preparation of monthly VAT returns and regulatory submissions.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls and monitor financial rules and regulations.
  • Oversee the smooth operations and maintenance of accounting, purchase ordering, payroll, and parental payment systems.
  • Manage accounts payable and cash management processes.
  • Oversee the monthly payroll process and ensure accurate payroll reporting and reconciliations.
  • Support the Senior Director of Finance in preparing relevant papers and documentation for board committees.
  • Deputise for the Senior Director of Finance as necessary.
Requirements:
  • Fully Qualified Accountant (ICAEW, ACCA, CIPFA, ICAS and Chartered Accountants Ireland)
  • BA Degree or equivalent
  • Ideally experienced within an Education/Trust environment
  • Strong leadership and management skills.

  • Actively managing your professional development.
  • Assuming responsibility for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
