Job Summary:

MLK Education Search is seeking a highly experienced and visionary Headteacher to lead a small, ambitious Secondary CofE Academy on its aspirational journey. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of school improvement, leadership, and management, with a strong understanding of the Church of England ethos.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a distinctly Christian vision for the school, aligning with the Trust's values and mission.
  • Embed the Trust and school visions into every aspect of the role, challenging and supporting staff to achieve excellence.
  • Promote a culture of excellence, exploration, and encouragement, supporting the belief that all children need to flourish in a creative environment.
  • Provide professional leadership and manage the school efficiently, ensuring effective day-to-day and strategic operations.
  • Lead the school community in promoting positive attitudes to learning, fostering a collaborative and supportive environment.
  • Work collaboratively with the wider Trust, recognizing the importance of partnership and collective achievement.
  • Optionally, take on additional responsibility for leading Careers and Enterprise work across the Trust.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and NPQH (or working towards)
  • Significant experience as a Headteacher or Head of School in a similar setting
  • Sustained record of school improvement, effective leadership, and management of resources
  • Evidence of effective appointment and personnel management
  • Understanding and experience of working within a Church environment (desirable but not essential)
