Headteacher & Trust Lead for Careers & Enterprise Education
2 months ago
We are a school on an aspirational journey.
Our vision is to be the best version of ourselves in an environment designed to be rewarding, stimulating, and challenging so that students can fulfil their potential. Our strong community creates a place of opportunity which allows its students to flourish, find expression, build strength of character, and make positive decisions when faced with adversity. This is guided and discovered through a rich pastoral system which makes a real difference to students' lives.
We are dedicated to building opportunities for all students to not only achieve the highest academic standards but also ensure that their unique personality, talents, and interests are nurtured and developed to the full. We have high expectations of our students and a laser focus on behaviour learning, leaving our highly skilled staff to focus on teaching and learning.
We know that there is a synergy between developing a well-rounded individual and a strong academic record. Our broad and balanced curriculum is complemented by an extensive range of enrichment activities such as creative arts, sports, music, student leadership and academic master classes, amongst many others.
Changes to, and investment in, the physical building and the environment saw us recruit some fantastic new members of teaching and support staff. We have further developments planned in IT infrastructure and refurbishment of one of our science laboratories this summer. This is not a school that stands still, and being part of a MAT allows us to continue to invest even when the national picture means budgets are tight.
With 3 out of 4 areas graded as Good by Ofsted (October 2023), we are looking for a Head who can secure a Good grading for Quality of Education, which will include considerable improvement to our published outcomes.
As a Church of England school, our underpinning values, which are deep-rooted in the Christian story, are the driving force of our academy. They resonate through everything we do, creating an inclusive culture where all faiths are valued, everybody is shown and receives Respect, Truth is modelled and encouraged, Generosity is given without expectation to receive, Forgiveness is practised, and Justice is demonstrated.
So whilst we are a school on an aspirational journey, the future is very exciting for students and staff at William Lovell.
A Headteacher will drive the creation and implementation of distinctly Christian vision within their School. They will embed the Trust and School visions into every area of the role and will challenge and support others in achieving the same.
A Headteacher will promote the need for pupils to actively engage in Excellence, Exploration and Encouragement and support LAAT's belief that all children need to flourish in a creative environment that allows them to become all that God intended.
In our Trust a Headteacher provides professional leadership and is responsible for the efficient day to day and strategic management of the School as part of LAAT, leading the school community in promoting positive attitudes to learning throughout the whole community.
A Headteacher will work collaboratively as part of the wider Trust, with the understanding that it is one organisation working in partnership to achieve the best outcomes for all pupils.
The postholder may be required to work in any of the Trust schools as directed.
Take the lead on the careers and enterprise work across the Trust.
The Role of Lead Careers & Enterprise
Education within our Trust
At Lincoln Anglican Academy Trust we are committed to ensuring that our children and young people are enabled to achieve and
succeed, not only whilst they are with us, but also into their adult lives.
To ensure that they have both the skills and the aspirations which they will need, many of our schools have adopted
The World of Work as part of their curriculum offer. This project started life in Canon Peter Hall Primary School in Immingham
and has been taken up across the trust. The impact on the young people has been incredible, especially in schools with high
levels of deprivation.
It is now time to harness the amazing work and ensure that all schools have access to it.
With this in mind, this post will include 1 day a fortnight dedicated to:
-Formalising the World of Work programme
-Ensuring its accessibility to all trust schools and prospective business partners
-Running a World of Work LAAT staff networking group to enable the sharing of successes and barriers
-Developing the links between the world of work within the curriculum, with a focus on William Lovell, to ensure all students see the relevance between education and employment
-Developing professional relationships with those businesses who sit around our schools and bringing them into the programme.
-Monitoring the effectiveness of the offer and its impact on students.
-Reporting to the LAAT board
