About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Procurement and Supplier Manager to join our team at Aviva. As a key member of our Procurement and Outsourcing function, you will be responsible for sourcing, managing, and maximizing business relationships with our most important UK Health & Protection suppliers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain good relationships across the business, using your gravitas and confidence to influence stakeholders and gain support through your expertise and knowledge.
  • Implement a standard approach to the sourcing, on-boarding, and management of our third-party suppliers, ensuring they are sourced and contracted with appropriately in accordance with Aviva Group Standards.
  • Ensure the rigorous implementation and operational effectiveness of our supplier oversight framework, also aligned to Aviva Group standards.
  • Develop and maintain a good understanding of the principles of the end-to-end procurement lifecycle and be able to demonstrate its relevance to interested stakeholders and the wider business.
  • Relate core business imperatives, such as delivering customer focus / excellence, to your own sourcing practice and decisions and the subsequent management of our chosen suppliers.
Requirements
  • Experience of working in insurance, procurement, financial services, or supply management with additional experience of sourcing and supplier relationship management, ideally with leadership and coaching experience.
  • Knowledge of sourcing and supplier relationship management processes and frameworks, including the commercial performance management of contracts and knowledge of supplier risk management techniques, tools, and governance requirements.
  • Experience of managing key outsourced relationships, commercial or change projects.
  • Excellent negotiation skills.
  • Previous experience of working within healthcare and/or protection would be an advantage.
