About the Role
The Enterprise Risk Senior Manager will play a critical role in shaping the future of Wise's risk management framework. Reporting to the Global Head of Enterprise Risk, this position will be responsible for ensuring the effective delivery of an enterprise risk management program that meets the needs of the business, stakeholders, and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain risk management policies, frameworks, and methodologies that align with the company's risk appetite and strategy.
- Collaborate with regional risk teams to ensure that risk management practices are consistent and effective across the organization.
- Oversee the completion and quality of risk assessments, ensuring that they are timely, accurate, and aligned with committee schedules and business requirements.
- Work closely with domain risk leads and regional risk leads to identify and escalate relevant risks, deep dives, and reviews to group risk committees and the Audit and Risk Committee.
- Continuously improve the quality of risk reporting, ensuring that it is concise, clear, and actionable for senior leadership.
- Assist risk/control owners, product managers, and risk leads in utilizing GRC tooling for risk assessment and management.
- Monitor internal audit and 2nd LOD oversight functions, coordinating inputs needed from Group Risk in remediation plans that impact standing risk exposures.
- Ensure that Group Risk complies with regulations applicable to 2LOD risk teams and operates suitable systems and controls.
- Develop and coordinate risk training across Wise, working with the wider risk organization.
- Liaise with regional risk functions and regional business units as needed.
Requirements
- Experience in mid-senior level risk management, preferably in an international setting.
- Experience with GRC tooling and other technological means to measure risk positions and provide actionable risk analysis reporting.
- Good understanding of systems, management information, and reporting systems.
- Demonstrated track record of second-line of defense independence and challenge/escalation where concerns are felt.
- Effective in change impact, liaison with other functions.
- Able to work independently and flexibly within a fast-moving environment.
- Experience in building a team.
