Are you skilled in overseeing electrical and control systems work packages while fostering relationships to ensure high-quality service delivery? If you are a Chartered Electrical Engineer with expertise in the water sector, this opportunity is for you.

Shape a Sustainable Future
We are seeking a Principal EICA Engineer with a background in Water Utilities to enhance our electrical and control systems capabilities on Infrastructure projects. Your main responsibility will be to oversee engineering tasks related to the design of water supply and wastewater infrastructure, as well as non-infrastructure equipment such as pumping stations and treatment facilities. While your role will be primarily design-focused within the UK, you will engage daily with colleagues across our global network. Opportunities may also arise to expand your contributions to other areas within the MEP discipline or take on client-side or site-based roles in various major infrastructure projects.

Your Key Responsibilities:
  • Contributing to the design of projects for a diverse client base
  • Coordinating design work and deliverables with the broader MEP team
  • Ensuring technical assurance of designs, utilizing relevant software

  • Facilitating coordination of multi-disciplinary project aspects
  • Mentoring junior engineers in design practices
  • Building and nurturing relationships with clients and stakeholders
Your Skills. Our Team. Together, We Design the Future.

To be successful in this role, you will possess:
  • A degree in electrical engineering, control systems engineering, or a related field
  • Chartered Engineer status or equivalent
  • Relevant experience in electrical system design within the water sector
  • The capability to deliver technically sound solutions independently and as a discipline lead
  • Experience in coordinating designs with other disciplines for successful project outcomes
  • Practical experience with software for electrical calculations (e.g., lighting calculations, LV cable sizing, breaker discrimination, lightning protection risk assessment, electrical load calculations, power factor sizing, harmonic filter sizing, and major equipment sizing). Familiarity with AMTECH software is preferred
  • Experience in developing control philosophies for MEICA systems, with SCADA design experience being advantageous
  • Experience with 3D and BIM design methodologies
  • Knowledge of relevant Water Industry Specifications (WIMES)
  • Experience applying CDM2015 regulations to design tasks
  • Experience in design and build projects, including designer representation on site, is beneficial
