Shape a Sustainable Future
We are seeking a Principal EICA Engineer with a strong background in Water Utilities to enhance our electrical and control systems capabilities on Infrastructure projects. Your main responsibility will be to oversee engineering tasks related to the design of water supply and wastewater infrastructure, as well as non-infrastructure equipment such as pumping stations and treatment facilities. While your role will be primarily design-focused within the UK, you will also engage daily with colleagues from our global offices. Opportunities may arise to expand your involvement in other areas within the MEP discipline or take on client-side or site-based roles across various major infrastructure projects.

Your Key Responsibilities Include:
  • Contributing to the design of diverse projects for a wide array of clients
  • Coordinating design work and deliverables with the broader MEP team
  • Ensuring technical assurance of designs, utilizing relevant software
  • Maintaining compliance with standards applicable to the UK water industry
  • Facilitating coordination of multi-disciplinary project aspects
  • Mentoring junior engineers in design practices
  • Building and nurturing relationships with clients and stakeholders
Your Qualifications:
  • A degree in electrical engineering, control systems engineering, or a related field
  • Chartered Engineer status or equivalent
  • Proven experience in electrical system design within the water sector
  • Ability to deliver technically sound solutions independently and as a discipline lead
  • Experience in coordinating designs with other disciplines for successful project outcomes
  • Hands-on experience with software for electrical calculations (e.g., lighting calculations, LV cable sizing, etc.), with AMTECH experience preferred
  • Expertise in developing control philosophies for MEICA systems; SCADA design experience is advantageous
  • Familiarity with 3D and BIM design practices
  • Knowledge of relevant Water Industry Specifications (WIMES)
  • Experience applying CDM2015 regulations to design tasks
  • Experience in design and build projects, including site representation
