Work Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week, including weekends.

Compensation: £12.20 per hour, with additional weekend enhancements where applicable.

Key Responsibilities

As a Care Home Support Specialist, your primary duties will include:

  • Delivering a comprehensive, resident-focused service that addresses the hospitality, housekeeping, and dietary preferences of our residents, while collaborating with various teams to ensure these needs are met.
  • Upholding stringent hygiene standards in compliance with health and safety regulations, infection control protocols, food safety laws, and the policies of St Monica Trust.
  • Conducting thorough room inspections, ensuring communal areas are comfortable, clean, and hygienic, as well as managing laundry tasks.
  • Addressing the unique needs of residents and working closely with colleagues across all care home departments.
  • Preparing lounge areas for use as social spaces for residents and their visitors.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Essential

  • Proficient in IT and standard office software, including word processing and email applications.
  • Basic understanding of food preparation and cleaning techniques.
  • Awareness of the challenges faced by older individuals in care settings.
  • Knowledge of fundamental health and safety regulations.
  • Familiarity with customer service principles.

Desirable

  • Level 1 or 2 in Food Hygiene (or equivalent).
  • Level 2 in Healthcare Cleaning (or equivalent).
  • General educational qualifications (GCSE or equivalent).
  • Familiarity with Microsoft 365 and video conferencing tools.
  • Experience working in a care environment.
  • Knowledge of safe moving and handling practices.
