Job Summary:

Harrow Council is seeking an experienced External Funding Officer to join our Public Health Team. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for leading the development of a sustainable and effective programme of income maximisation from successful grant applications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive strategy for identifying and securing external funding opportunities.
  • Provide training, mentoring, and coaching to support service areas in bid submission and grant management.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure continuous performance improvement across the Council.
  • Manage and track the development of projects, ensuring timely delivery and effective resource allocation.
  • Research, interpret, and summarise complex information about projects for a range of service areas.
  • Analyse financial, numerical, and textual data, providing concise summaries as necessary.
  • Develop and maintain an internal network for providing training and guidance on grant writing and management.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in supporting the writing of bids and managing grant applications.
  • Strong understanding of local government processes and procedures.
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills, with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to interpret and analyse complex data, providing clear and concise summaries.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders.

Working Arrangements:

This role offers a hybrid working arrangement with an office expectancy of at least two days per week. The role is offered as a two-year fixed term contract/secondment, which could be either part-time or full-time.
