We're seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Data Operations Specialist to join our team at PitchBook Data. As a Data Operations Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy, comprehensiveness, and timeliness of our data.
Key Responsibilities- Data Proficiency: Become proficient in one of our core data areas of operation, including private equity, venture capital, M&A, or Institutional Investors.
- Data Management: Leverage our in-house database, business intelligence reports, and other technology-based tools to ensure that proprietary data is audited and added to the PitchBook Platform efficiently while adhering to complex research tracking methodologies to ensure that data is of the utmost quality.
- Communication: Consistently provide quality customer service, responding to requests from internal and external customers daily.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with other members of the Primary team and the broader Data Operations department to develop and improve processes, tools, and methodologies; identifying opportunities to improve upon the core quality metrics (comprehensiveness, accuracy, and timeliness).
- Problem-Solving: Gather team feedback and utilize PowerBI reports to identify root causes of systemic data problems and drive operational, methodology, and Research Tool Suite Database improvements.
- Global Collaboration: Work closely with our Data Operations team in Mumbai to ensure we are accurately and comprehensively entering data into the PitchBook platform.
- Communication and Project Management: Communicate effectively and efficiently with your team and other stakeholders across the Data Operations department to provide updates on project progress, address roadblocks, and celebrate wins.
- Professional Development: Participate in various company initiatives and projects as requested.
- Language Proficiency: Professional working proficiency in a European language is preferred.
- Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
- Skills: Enjoy relationship building and conversing with new people every day and comfortable to engage a diverse group of industry contacts. Interest in financial markets or services, particularly private equity and venture capital. Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite including in-depth knowledge of Outlook, Word, and Excel with the ability to pick up new systems and software easily.
We believe our business and our culture are strongest when we work together in person. We also know that it's helpful to have some flexibility to work remotely. Most roles work in the office 3+ days/week, and some are expected to work in the office 4-5 days/week. The current expectation for this role is that you are working in the office 3+ days/week and that you are in the office full-time during the training period, for which the length varies by role.
The job conditions for this position are in a standard office setting. Employees in this position use PC and phone on an ongoing basis throughout the day. Limited corporate travel may be required to remote offices or other business meetings and events.
