We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Reception and Appointment Clerk to join our team at University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our administrative team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our outpatient and day unit services.
Key Responsibilities- Welcome patients to the department, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information is recorded on our systems.
- Liaise with patients, wards, clinical staff, GPs, and Trust support staff to provide effective communication and support.
- Communicate promptly and accurately with patients, visitors, and other Trust staff, applying discretion and tact when necessary.
- Escalate patient queries and capacity issues to the line manager or relevant clinical staff as appropriate.
- Provide timely and accurate information to visitors and respond to telephone calls in accordance with hospital guidelines.
- Be a point of contact for outpatient and treatment bookings telephone calls.
- Liaise with nursing and medical staff to ensure planned day unit sessions run smoothly and patient notes are prepared as required.
