Job Title: Driver Refueller

Company: Hitachi Rail

We are seeking a committed Driver Refueller to operate within our North Pole Train Maintenance Centre. This position entails the operation, servicing, and refuelling of trains, alongside assisting maintenance personnel with both corrective and preventative upkeep of Hitachi's rolling stock. The role requires flexibility to work on a rotating shift schedule.

Salary:

  • Base salary of £38,427
  • 15% Shift allowance
  • £6000 Location Allowance

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct train movements within the Maintenance Centre
  • Service trains by replenishing fluids, cleaning, and maintaining operational systems
  • Document all servicing activities in the Maintenance Management System
  • Identify and report any defects discovered
  • Assist maintenance teams with troubleshooting and repairs
  • Ensure appropriate use and management of materials
  • Adhere to safety regulations and best practices
  • Contribute to ensuring trains are ready for service

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience in supporting maintenance teams
  • Awareness of operational safety
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities
  • Familiarity with maintenance management systems
  • Basic engineering knowledge is advantageous

Preferred Skills:

  • Basic IT proficiency
  • First Aid certification
  • Experience with refuelling operations for rolling stock
  • Understanding of Depot Protection systems
