About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate English Teacher to join our team at a well-established SEN school that caters to students with Autism and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lesson Planning and Delivery: Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality English lessons tailored to the needs of students with Autism and SEMH.
  • Classroom Environment: Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages learning and development.
  • Assessment and Progress Monitoring: Assess, record, and report on the progress and attainment of students, ensuring individual education plans (IEPs) are met.
  • Collaboration and Teamwork: Collaborate with the wider school team, including SEN specialists, teaching assistants, and parents, to support student progress.
  • Adaptability and Classroom Management: Adapt teaching strategies to meet the diverse needs of students and manage classroom behavior effectively.
Requirements
  • Qualifications: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Teaching Experience: Experience teaching English, preferably within an SEN or alternative provision setting.
  • Understanding of Autism and SEMH: A strong understanding of Autism and SEMH and how these impact learning and development.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and inspire students.
  • Commitment to Inclusive Education: A commitment to inclusive education and a passion for working with students with special educational needs.
