Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Residential Support Professional to join our team at Autism Unlimited. As a Residential Support Professional, you will play a vital role in supporting an individual with complex needs, providing a safe and nurturing environment that promotes independence and well-being.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain a strong relationship with the individual, understanding their needs, preferences, and goals.
  • Provide personalized support to enable the individual to participate in daily activities, such as personal care, meal preparation, and leisure activities.
  • Collaborate with the individual's support network, including family members, healthcare professionals, and other support staff, to ensure a cohesive and effective support plan.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of the individual's progress, including their care plan, medication, and any relevant medical information.
  • Participate in regular team meetings and contribute to the development of the individual's support plan.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with individuals with complex needs, particularly those with autism.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with individuals, families, and colleagues.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible and adaptable approach to meet the changing needs of the individual.
  • Basic knowledge of autism and its impact on daily life, with a willingness to learn and develop your skills and knowledge.
  • Valid driving license and access to a reliable vehicle, as regular travel is required.
