About the Role:

We are seeking a compassionate and driven SEMH Teaching Assistant to work full-time at one of our partner schools. You will play a pivotal role in helping students with SEMH needs engage in education and achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide 1:1 and group support to students with SEMH needs.
  • Assist the class teacher in planning and delivering tailored lessons to meet the needs of individual students.
  • Implement strategies to help students regulate their emotions and behaviour, enabling them to engage with learning.
  • Work closely with the school's SENCO, teachers, and other support staff to ensure students receive holistic care.
  • Foster positive relationships with students, helping to build their confidence, self-esteem, and social skills.
  • Support students in overcoming barriers to learning and encourage them to achieve their educational goals.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs, ideally in a school or education setting.
  • A calm, patient, and nurturing approach when working with challenging behaviours.
  • Resilience, adaptability, and excellent communication skills.
  • A genuine passion for supporting students with additional needs to succeed in education.
  • Confidence in managing behaviour and implementing positive behaviour strategies.
  • A Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable but not essential).
  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or be willing to apply for one.
