Job Title: Adult Mental Health Practitioner

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Adult Mental Health Practitioner to join our team at Turning Point. As a key member of our Substance Use Treatment Service, you will play a vital role in providing support to individuals living in Wakefield who are struggling with mental health issues and substance use.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with our Principal Practitioner Psychologist to provide bespoke support and care packages to individuals with Dual Diagnosis needs.
  • Develop and implement effective treatment plans to address the complex needs of service users.
  • Collaborate with mental health services within the District to ensure disadvantaged service users access necessary support for their well-being.
  • Act as a professional role model, providing clinical supervision and support to junior members of staff.
  • Travel across different areas to support service users and staff, with a driving license and access to a car being highly desirable.

Requirements:

  • Doctorate in Clinical, Counselling or Forensic Psychology or RMN or CQSW/DipSW or Occupational Therapist.
  • Understanding of recovery models/approaches and knowledge of mental health issues and their management.
  • Ability to understand and manage risks and clients' safeguarding for both adult and young clients.
  • Experience of working in the community, although not essential.
