Job Title: Senior Mental Health Practitioner

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Mental Health Practitioner to join our team at Wakefield Council. As a key member of our Substance Use Treatment Service, you will play a vital role in providing support to individuals with dual diagnosis needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with our Principal Practitioner Psychologist to provide bespoke support and care packages to individuals with dual diagnosis needs.
  • Link with Mental Health Services within the District to ensure disadvantaged Service Users access necessary support for their well-being.
  • Develop and implement effective treatment plans to promote recovery and independence.
  • Provide clinical supervision and support to junior staff members.
  • Participate in audits, MDT reviews, and CPA processes to ensure high-quality care.

Requirements:

  • Doctorate in Clinical, Counselling, or Forensic Psychology or RMN or CQSW/DipSW or Occupational Therapist.
  • Understanding of recovery models/approaches and mental health issues.
  • Ability to manage risks and clients' safeguarding for both adult and young clients.
  • Experience of line managing staff.
  • Driving license and access to a car (desirable).
