Job Title: Senior Community Mental Health Practitioner - Adult Mental Health Specialist

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Community Mental Health Practitioner to join our team at Turning Point. As a Senior Community Mental Health Practitioner, you will play a key role in providing high-quality mental health services to individuals with dual diagnosis needs in the Wakefield area.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide bespoke support and care packages to individuals with dual diagnosis needs
  • Work closely with our Principal Practitioner Psychologist to develop and implement treatment plans
  • Link with mental health services within the district to ensure disadvantaged service users access necessary support
  • Develop and lead a team of key roles linked to safeguarding, including named safeguarding leads
  • Support recovery workers with assessments and formulations, and complete referrals to relevant mental health services
  • Advocate for clients' admissions to mental health services and liaise with partner agencies to remove barriers
  • Attend monthly complex case meetings to review clients' mental health needs
  • Assess and manage risks related to mental health difficulties and substance consumption

Requirements:

  • Doctorate in Clinical, Counselling, or Forensic Psychology, or RMN, CQSW/DipSW, or Occupational Therapist
  • Understanding of recovery models and approaches, and knowledge of mental health issues and management
  • Ability to understand and manage risks and clients' safeguarding for adult and young clients
  • Experience of working in the community, although not essential
  • Driving license and access to a car desirable
