About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and dedicated Senior Mental Health Practitioner to join our team at Turning Point, providing support to individuals with dual diagnosis needs in the Wakefield District.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement bespoke support plans for clients with dual diagnosis needs, working closely with our Principal Practitioner Psychologist.
  • Collaborate with mental health services within the district to ensure disadvantaged service users access necessary support for their well-being.
  • Provide low-level interventions and signposting to clients, while also supporting recovery workers with assessments and formulations.
  • Liaise with partner agencies to remove barriers preventing dual diagnosis clients from accessing mental health services.
  • Hold a small caseload of clients and attend monthly complex case meetings to review clients' mental health needs with other professionals.
  • Assess and manage risks related to both mental health difficulties and substance consumption.
Requirements
  • Doctorate in Clinical, Counselling or Forensic Psychology or RMN or CQSW/DipSW or Occupational Therapist.
  • Understanding of recovery models/approaches and knowledge of mental health issues and their management.
  • Experience of line managing staff and managing risks and clients' safeguarding for both adult and young clients.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with community mental and physical health services.
  • Driving license and access to a car (desirable).
