About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and innovative Speech and Language Therapist to provide clinical and professional leadership to our in-patient mental health and forensic Speech and Language (SLT) provision.

The successful candidate will have highly specialised clinical skills to assess, treat, and manage a wide range of communication and swallowing disorders for service users within in-patient mental health & forensic services.

As a Clinical Lead, you will lead the development and provision of the SLT services across mental health and forensic care groups, ensuring high quality and effective clinical provision.

You will be integral in transforming and leading high quality, person-centred care across practice, service, and professional boundaries.

Main Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and provision of SLT services across mental health and forensic care groups
  • Assess, treat, and manage a wide range of communication and swallowing disorders
  • Provide clinical and professional leadership to the SLT team
  • Develop and implement service improvement initiatives
  • Collaborate with the SLT team, other professionals, and service users to achieve high-quality care

Requirements

  • Highly specialist knowledge of clinical practice
  • Ability to assess, diagnose, and manage communication and swallowing needs
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Effective use of interpersonal skills with a variety of people
  • Knowledge of the roles and experience of related professions/agencies
